South Africa's wine industry is facing a challenging future and it is desperately searching for a hero – an icon wine.

Most of the limes imported by Europe and North America come from Mexico and Brazil. Other Latin American countries also have production for export. In China, the fruit's production is expanding due to the growing domestic demand for the product.

The situation in the grapefruit market is currently very good. "The market in Europe is almost empty and that is resulting in high prices for the South African grapefruit. South Africa has slowly started shipping to the EU, after sending the largest volumes to Asia and Russia.

The current season is markedly different from last year when a massive crop strained resources and price levels.

The world’s two biggest cocoa producers halted sales for the harvest that will begin in October 2020, pending an agreement with buyers on a minimum price.

The US corn market pulled back this week with the price for US yellow corn dropping by 3% week-on-week, although the current price is 9% higher compared to prices a year ago.
